Your private guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel in the morning. Next, head to the Summer Palace. The transfer takes approximately 20 minutes.vEnter the Summer Palace through the East Palace Gate. This is the main entrance of the palace. The guide will explain the historical significance of the gate and the grandeur of the imperial architecture. Walk to the Hall of Benevolence and Longevity. This was the place where the Empress Dowager Cixi and Emperor Guangxu held court and handled state affairs.
