The half-day Etna volcano tour is a fantastic experience. You will see breathtaking volcanic vistas, including craters from 1865, lava flows that have destroyed entire villages, and unique lava flow caves. The tour also includes a stop for lunch at a lovely chalet, located at 1,500 meters above sea level, surrounded by nature. Participants are part of small groups that allow for an intimate exploration of the island's beauty.
Pickup included
We will take a walk of about 2 hours, climbing a buttonhole of side craters of the volcano formed in 1865 B.C. by an eruption that lasted months.
Equipped with helmets and torches we will enter a lava flow tunnel (more commonly called a lava cave) to explore inside and discover legends and secrets of the thieves' cave among Etna's most famous.
Near Piano Provenzana we will make a stop to admire the 2002 lava flow among the largest ever that destroyed the ski resort.
You can choose to be picked up from a list of locations, or alternatively, have the choice to make your own way to the meeting points
