Follow in the footsteps of Anne Frank as you walk the last part of the route she took with her family to the Secret Annex. As you walk along Amsterdam's beautiful canal belt, you'll hear extracts from her famous diary, allowing Anne to tell her story in her own words.
Your guide will take you through the build-up to World War 2, explaining how Anne and her family came to live in Amsterdam, and why they had to go into hiding.
You'll also hear stories of Dutch resistance, of feisty women taking on Nazi officers and how it was for people to live and work in Amsterdam during the Nazi occupation.
Whilst on this tour, you will also experience some of Amsterdam's quirkier elements and how, as a city, it's not afraid to poke fun at itself.
Although this tour discusses war and the holocaust, it also demonstrates the kindness of people and their willingness to help despite the dangers.
In the words of Anne- 'Look at how a single candle can both defy and define the darkness.'
