The Ouzoud Waterfalls, near the historic Berber community of Ouzoud, are home to some of Morocco's most spectacular cascades. Ouzoud means "the act of grinding grain" in the native Berber language. As you see the enormous waterfalls that descend over 360 feet (110 m) into the El-Abid River Gorge, you'll understand why it got its name. This journey is an excellent way to appreciate Morocco's natural splendor. Your private driver will pick you up early in the morning and transport you three hours from Marrakech to Ouzoud. When you arrive, a local guide will greet you and teach you about the geological and cultural history of the area. Next, following your guide, you'll take a relatively simple trek to the waterfalls, passing through olive groves. Keep a look out for the region's native monkeys!
