3-Day Private Hiking Trail in The Overberg
The three-day, 26km trail meanders through hidden pockets of the indigenous forest alive with birds, to Tolkienesque dells of dense lichens, tumbling waterfalls and streams and, you guessed it, through exquisite fynbos.
On the Premium option, you will get an expert Fgasa guide who will share the stories of the fauna/flora and various social projects we are involved in through the Walker Bay Fynbos Conservancy. Also included is a wine tasting with award-winning Lomond Wine Estate, a signed copy of a fynbos field guide, and a visit to Grootbos Florilegium.

What's included in 3-Day Private Hiking Trail in The Overberg
(Subject to Option Inclusions)This trail is a unique hiking trail in the heart of the Cape Floral Kingdom that can be undertaken as a fully guided and catered slack-packing trail or as a self-guided and catered trail. This trail, just two hours from Cape Town and close to Hermanus Overberg. This takes hikers along a beautiful stretch of trail through coastal and mountain fynbos, and remote forests and visits some fascinating environmental and social projects along the way. On the first night you stay at Grootbos Environmental Centre in Fountain Bush Cottage and the second night is at Witkrans Nature Farm in Cone Bush Cottage. Both these overnights have 5 bedrooms each with twin beds in each room which can be made as singles or doubles. All ages are welcome and it has been graded as easy to moderate by Green Flag International Standards..

Meeting / End Points
- We are situated in The Overberg, which is 2 hours outside of Cape Town. Our trail manager meets all guests at the start of the trail at Growing the Futures Project, Grootbos Nature Reserve. You will receive detailed directions and the gate code before your arrival.
