The splendid views and adventures in Fox Glacier and Chancellor Dome are such that it would need two days to properly appreciate it all. This two day, one night stay is the ultimate in mountain trekking at the West Coast. The first day will be spent with a flight out to Chancellor Hut, and along the way, you'll view the gorgeous Southern Alps and its peaks. It's time to trek through Chancellor Dome, where bowls of snowgrass are in all directions, and you'll head right up to the summit for the most perfect view point. Around you are the Southern Alps, with the Tasman Sea on one side. Descending back to the hut, where you'll relax in the evening. The next day, that fresh alpine air will rejuvenate you and you'll have the chance to explore the immediate surroundings at Chancellor Shelf.
