Your guide will lead you from a well-hidden prehistoric archaeological site launching area into the aquatic preserve, unveiling a rustic setting of a protected and untouched tropical mangrove "jungle". Drift along the gently flowing waters, embraced by the tranquility and protection of the dense jungle. Venture into secluded waterways and witness the local avian life soaring high above and hiding amidst the lush foliage. Prepare for an invigorating kayak adventure through fully shaded low hanging tree canopied passages barely wide-enough for your kayak. This secluded jungle remains untouched by motorized watercraft, shielded by shallow water, sandbars, enclosed low overhead tunnels and extremely narrow pristine waterways. You can hear the faintest sounds of nature in this protected aquatic preserve. As you emerge from the mangroves, a winding open waterway beckons, inviting you to explore tannin-colored shallow sandbars teeming with fascinating marine life like stingrays, puffer fish, and crabs. Observe ibises, egrets, herons, woodpeckers and other birds in their daily routines. Enjoy this ecological gem just a few miles from the bustling Fort Pierce inlet.
