－What You Can Expect－

Start the lesson by getting geared up with the wetsuits and surfboards. Head down to the sand with your group of fellow students. Spend the first 30-40 minutes of training on the beach and learning all the important aspects of surfing. Your professional certified instructors will teach you how to pop up on the board, educate you about the ocean and end the land lesson with the most important part - safety.

After that, enjoy 60 minutes with an instructor(s) in the ocean getting coaching and helpful pushes. The remaining time will be yours to practice your skills and have fun in the water. After the class, an instructor will lead you to an outdoor public shower where you will be able to rinse off. Don't worry about your belongings, as you will be able to leave everything locked in the surf school van.

  • Meeting point: 
  1. Venice Beach: left (south) side of the parking lot by Venice Fishing Pier (10 Washington blvd, Marina del Rey, CA 90292)
    *Look for the blue surf school bus with FUN SURF LA logo on it
  2. Santa Monica: Meet on the right side of the parking lot of Bicknell Ave. (20 Bicknell Ave, Santa Monica, CA 90401)
    *Once you enter the parking lot turn right and you will see white Ford E-250 van
  • Meeting time: 8:00 am / 10:00 am / 12:00 pm / 14:00 pm. Depends on the time slot you choose 
  • Duration: 2 hours

  • Travelers are recommended to use non-chemical sun protection (e.g. sunhat, sun protection clothes) in order to protect the environment

  • Please check your email in the morning before heading to the beach, in case the meeting point subject to change
  • Please note that the following travelers are not suitable for the tour: children under 12 years old, weight less than 40.83kg (90lb), and a height lower than 150cm (59)". If the participants do not meet the requirements, we have the right to refuse to participate in the tour
  • If the lesson is booked for a younger or smaller participant we will not be able to allow them to participate and no refund will be issued
  • This tour has a moderate level of activity and requires participants to be in good health
  • You need to have basic swimming knowledge to participate in this activity
  • Please arrive at the meeting point on time. There are absolutely no refunds or rescheduling available after the tour starts
