The Puerta del Sol (Spanish for “Gate of the Sun”) is a Madrid public square, one of the best known and busiest places in the city. This is the centre (Km 0) of the radial network of Spanish roads. Cava Baja is one of Madrid’s most iconic and atmospheric streets, nestled in the heart of the vibrant La Latina neighborhood. Its name, meaning "Lower Ditch," dates back to medieval times when the street followed the line of a defensive trench just outside the city walls.
