Experience introduction Why is the market so lively? Because most Shanghainese go to the market every day to buy the freshest ingredients. In Europe and the United States, many people only go to the supermarket once a week. Why is there a cooked food store in every market? Because many people work at a fast pace and have no time to cook, buying cooked food can save cooking time. The small market condenses the life of Shanghainese, and food, as a "common language", brings people closer to each other.
History of the neighborhood Jinxian Road was officially built in 1926. It was named Puenjishi Road after a British shipbuilding expert in Shanghai. It was renamed Jinxian Road in 1943. The section of Jinxian Road east of Maoming South Road has disappeared, and Maoming South Road has become the new starting point. The length of the entire road has also been shortened to 295 meters. The alleys on Jinxian Road have both Shikumen buildings and low bungalows. The alleys are winding and full of the rich life atmosphere of old Shanghai.
Experience process I will take you to visit the local old vegetable markets in the city center. These are local vegetable markets that have been open for decades. Although they look new after renovation, the big brothers and sisters who sell vegetables have been stationed here for decades. After buying vegetables, everyone will go back to my home on Jinxian Road where [Flowering] was filmed to cook dumplings/xiaolongbao together and eat together to experience the daily meals of Shanghai people.
