Itinerary

Ancient Salona

Embark on a journey back in time with our half-day tour from Split, starting with a visit to Salona. Salona, once the capital of the Roman province of Dalmatia and birthplace of Emperor Diocletian, now lies within the modern town of Solin. Its roots trace back to the 1st century CE, when it served as the heart of Roman governance in the region. Before the Romans, Salona was home to the Dalmatean people, an ancient Illyrian tribe. Explore the captivating ruins and layers of history that tell the story of this ancient city's rich heritage.
