In the early morning, when the sky is just beginning to brighten, you need to set off for Jingshan Park. Your tour guide will contact you for the accurate time of meeting so you can arrive at the park about half an hour before the sunrise. Once you enter the park, follow the winding paths all the way to Wanchun Pavilion on top of Jingshan Hill and secure a great viewing spot with an excellent view. As day breaks and the sun rises in the east, its orange-red rays gently shine on every corner of the ancient city of Beijing. The magnificent complex of red walls and yellow tiles of the Forbidden City comes into view first, looking solemn, grand, and truly breathtaking. You'll surely be captivated by this scene and can't resist taking several photos to cherish the moment.
Stroll leisurely out of the west gate of Jingshan Park. After a short walk, you'll soon step into Beihai Park. Once you enter the park, Qionghua Island stands like a lustrous jade pearl in the middle of the clear lake, beckoning you to move forward quickly. Walk along the stone paths on the island, look up at the sacred White Pagoda soaring into the sky, showing its simple and elegant style against the blue sky. Then, wander to Wulong Pavilions. With their upturned eaves and corners, the five pavilions are scattered and connected, resembling a sleeping dragon by the lake. If you get tired from walking, you can head to the dock and board a small boat(optional) to row leisurely on Beihai Lake. With a gentle breeze caressing your face and calm waters, it's extremely relaxing.
As noon approaches, your stomach will start growling. There is a great variety of delicious food around Beihai Park. Just pick a bustling little restaurant and walk in. Zhajiang Noodles are a must-try. The chewy noodles are fully coated with thick and fragrant meat sauce. Take a slurp, and your mouth will be filled with wonderful flavors.
