An hour and a half from the port of Mazatlán, is the Tufted Jay Preserve, a unique place in the world.

During the tour of around 8 hours, you will be able to see species such as: Tufted Jay, Red Warbler, Eared Quetzal, Black-throated Magpie-Jay, White-naped Swift, Bumblebee Hummingbird, Gray-crowned Woodpecker, Blue Mockingbird, Russet Nightingale. Thrush, Rufous-backed Robin, Aztec Thrush, Green-striped Brushfinch, Rufous-capped Brushfinch, Red-headed Tanager, Arizona Woodpecker, Northern Saw-whet Owl, Whiskered Screech-Owl, Stygian Owl, Rusty-crowned Ground-Sparrow among many further.

Concordia

Just 2 hours from Mazatlán in the Concordia Mountains, is one of the most important places for bird watching in the World, the Tufted Jay Preserve, where we can observe the enigmatic, beautiful and micro-endemic Tufted Jay, as well as species such as Red Warbler, Eared Quetzal, Sinaloa Crow, White-naped Swift, Bumblebee Hummingbird, Gray-crowned Woodpecker, Blue Mockingbird, Russet Nightingale-Thrush, Rufous-backed Robin, Aztec Thrush, Green-striped Brushfinch, Rufous-capped Brushfinch, Red -headed Tanager, Arizona Woodpecker, Northern Saw-whet Owl, Whiskered Screech-Owl, Stygian Owl, Rusty-crowned Ground-Sparrow among many more.

Copala

On the way back to Mazatlán, we will stop at some points in the Sierra Madre, in order to observe more birds. One of the most important stops will be in the town of Copala, a beautiful mining town with more than 400 years of history, and located in the low mountains of the Sierra Madre, making it an extraordinary place for bird watching. Here we hope to observe birds such as: Military Macaw, Mexican Parrotlet, Black-capped Vireo, Rufous-bellied Chachalaca, Happy Wren, Sinaloa Wren, Black-capped Gnatcatcher, Ferruginous Pygmy-Owl, Black-throated Magpie-Jay, among many more.
