Mazafonte is a unique destination in the world. We will visit an endemic forest, full of giant frailejones (more than 10 meters), orchids and which we consider the home of the Andean bear. If you want a surprising place in terms of biodiversity and landscapes, this will undoubtedly be a place to be surprised.
This experience will be unique thanks to the accompaniment of the professional guide, who is not only a Biologist and will be able to tell impressive details of the ecosystems and landscapes visited. He is also a local guide and will be accompanied by another local guide, a member of the rural tourism association, who is in-depth knowledge of the territory.
This tour has a maximum capacity of 7 people, so we respect the carrying capacity of the environment, being able to enjoy the silence, tranquility and true stillness of the mountain.
If we are lucky and have good energy we will be able to spot the Andean bear in the middle of our route or see footprints and marks that will allow us to learn more about its ecology.

A hiking route to enjoy near Bogota. You can experience it in a full day. We will start our trip from Bogota or Choachi, depending on the plan you choose. We will take a 4x4 for 40 minutes. We will begin the trek at 2,600 meters above sea level up to 3,200 meters above sea level (medium level). We will start our trail, crossing the agricultural border and gradually entering the forest along the Laguna de Paramillo Trail. We will visit the Tuche waterfall in the middle of the route, a beautiful waterfall with water just born from the moor. You will be able to enjoy the freshness of the forest and the cleanliness of the pure water, within the high Andean forest endemic to Giant Frailejones. This forest is part of the large buffer forest complex of the Chingaza Moor, on the western side of the Eastern Cordillera. Two large forests with very particular vegetation and biodiversity, in this place it is possible to see the Oso de Antojos since we will cross its home among puyas, birds, endemic orchids and the renowned Espeletia Uribei, unique in the world!
