Njegos Mausoleum
In a 45-minute visit to the Njegoš Mausoleum, tourists can experience: The impressive architecture of the mausoleum, located at the top of Jezerski Peak (1,660 meters above sea level), the final resting place of Montenegro’s ruler, poet, and philosopher Petar II Petrović Njegoš. A monumental sculpture of Njegoš and two stone female figures (angels) created by the renowned sculptor Ivan Meštrović. A breathtaking panoramic viewpoint, offering spectacular views across much of Montenegro – on clear days, the Adriatic Sea can also be seen. A tunnel carved through the rock and a stairway leading up to the mausoleum, providing a memorable walk through the pristine nature of Mount Lovćen. This timeframe is enough to explore the site, enjoy the views, and take photos.
Viewing Point at the Road Kotor-Lovcen
The final station of the Kotor–Lovćen cable car is located at a breathtaking viewpoint that offers one of the most spectacular panoramic views of the Bay of Kotor. From this elevated spot, visitors can admire the dramatic contrast between the deep blue waters of the bay and the surrounding mountains, making it an unforgettable photo opportunity and a perfect introduction to the natural beauty of Montenegro.
