Itinerary

Atago Shrine

Atop a hill in Tokyo’s Toranomon district stands Atago Shrine, a historic sanctuary famous for its steep “Stairway to Success.” Climbing the stone steps rewards visitors with a peaceful retreat from the city’s bustle—a place cherished since the Edo period. The shrine is believed to bring good fortune in career advancement and protection from fire, drawing many visitors throughout the year. Blending nature and tradition, this site offers a unique glimpse into Japan’s spiritual culture. (An elevator is available for those who prefer not to use the stairs.)

NHK Museum of Broadcasting

Modern Japanese culture evolved hand in hand with television—indeed, the history of TV in Japan mirrors the nation’s own journey. At this museum, visitors can explore rare and valuable artifacts that trace the development of Japanese broadcasting and its impact on daily life.

Zojoji Temple

Located just beside Tokyo Tower, Zojoji Temple is the family temple of the Tokugawa shogunate, founders of the Edo period. Its majestic architecture and spacious grounds offer a serene escape in the heart of the city. Throughout the year, seasonal beauty unfolds—cherry blossoms in spring and vibrant foliage in autumn—making it a perfect place to experience Japanese culture and history.
