Sailing from the old port of Pula you will see: - The Pula Arena is a Roman amphitheatre located in Pula, Croatia. It is the only remaining Roman amphitheatre to have four side towers entirely preserved. It was constructed between 27 BC and AD 68, and is among the world's six largest surviving Roman arenas. The arena is also the country's best-preserved ancient monument. - Uljanik was founded in 1856, in the carefully selected bay of Pula as a shipyard of the Austro-Venetian Navy (from 1867 to 1918 Austro-Hungarian Navy). The foundation stone was laid on December 9 by Empress Elisabeth of Austria so, this date is celebrated as the anniversary of the shipyard, one of the oldest operational shipyards in the world. It was named after an islet on which there used to grow olive trees while at present the steel and hull fabrication workshops are situated there. Trip starts from main pier in Pula and takes you in the waters of Brijuni national park where captain searches for dolphins. When we find them the boat slows down and you start the main part of this excursion. Probability of seeing dolphins is over 90 percent. You can make many great photos with dolphins and sun setting on the horizon. The tour is around 3 hours long, depending how far captain needs to sail to find dolphins and the time when we find them.
On the way back from the dolphin tour, take out your cameras and get the magnificent photo of illuminated Arena Pula from the boat (left side or portside).
