Natsu Matsuri (Summer Festivals) are fun summer events held all over Japan. Come and see how the local residents enjoy their festivals in Kichijoji, a popular residential and shopping town in the western suburbs of Tokyo, only about 15 minutes by train from Shinjuku or Shibuya. This is a 2-hour guided tour starting from Kichijoji Station to the festival venue. At the festival site, enjoy Ennichi fair and Bon-odori dancing! After visiting Ghibli Museum, take a look at the town of Kichijoji!
A maze of alleyways filled with stores, bars and restaurants. Walk around as you like and take a peek at the various stores! We will then take you to the festival site through Kichijoji’s representative shopping arcade, introducing you to the charms of Kichijoji.
Since opening in 1974, Tokyu Department Store has been a favorite of the locals and it offers a venue for the Fureai Summer Festival on July 24 and 25. Enjoy Ennichi fair with tickets that allow you to buy drinks, foods, toys, etc. Let’s dance Bon-odori with the locals! about 90 minutes.
Gesso-ji Temple is a temple closely connected to the community, and a summer festival will be held here on August 2 and 3. Use your ticket to enjoy Ennichi fair. Enjoy Bon-odori dancing with the locals! about 90 minutes.
