Beginning in the stunning and picturesque Piazza della Signoria, one of Florence's most iconic squares, we'll set the stage for your journey into Florence's golden age—the era when Michelangelo's David was sculpted. In this very square, a replica of David now stands in the spot where the original masterpiece once stood.
Church and Museum of Orsanmichele
Next, we'll stroll along the charming cobblestone streets as your guide shares fascinating insights, engaging stories, and fun facts, highlighting noteworthy landmarks along the way. Along our route, we'll pass the Orsanmichele church and view a statue believed to have inspired Michelangelo's David.
Duomo - Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore
We will visit the site where Michelangelo sculpted David and where the original block of marble was stored for years, as it was considered too problematic for anyone to work on. We will also learn about its intended placement on the Florence Duomo.
