We will visit Gaslamp Quarter, This historic neighborhood in downtown San Diego is packed with hip places to eat, drink and socialize. Soak up the vibe of San Diego's frontier years in the Gaslamp Quarter, a downtown district anchored by the outdoor entertainment hub of Horton Plaza Park. Lit by ornate lamps lining the sidewalks, these 16 blocks were once a turbulent neighborhood filled with gambling dens and opium dens. But that was in 1880. Today, the cultural district is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the Gaslamp's elegantly restored Victorian buildings are packed with restaurants, theaters and nightclubs.

We'll visit little italy
This downtown neighborhood encompasses San Diego's culinary past and future, The Little Italy neighborhood north of downtown is not your typical strip of red-checkered tablecloth restaurants. The neighborhood prides itself on being America’s largest “Little Italy,” at 48 blocks, and boasts cultural offerings that extend beyond its Italian heritage.
Signs of the Italian immigrant community that settled here in the 1920s to work in the then-thriving tuna industry can still be seen: the bocce ball courts at Amici Park, the Italian Renaissance-style frescoes at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, along with imported cheeses and traditional cold cuts at Mona Lisa Italian Foods. Some hotels in Little Italy also play up that heritage, like the 90-room Porto Vista Hotel with its modern, Mediterranean-inspired aesthetic and The Carté Hotel, part of Hilton’s Curio group, which features a seafood-to-table restaurant and Fonte di Vino wine bar.
