Go beyond the ghost stories on this immersive Salem day trip from Boston. Led by a licensed local historian, you’ll uncover the real events of 1692 as you explore the town’s most iconic landmarks. On a guided walking tour, you'll learn how fear and misinformation fueled one of the darkest chapters in American history—then enjoy a creative twist. You’ll visit a beloved local spell shop before rolling up your sleeves in a private broom-making workshop at a woman-owned studio. With a handmade broom to take home and flexible train tickets for easy travel, this tour blends deep historical insight with just the right amount of hands-on magic.
Start your day at Boston’s North Station, where your expert Walks guide welcomes you with train tickets and centuries of Salem history. As you ride north, you’ll get a primer on what really happened in 1692—from the political tensions to the religious hysteria—that laid the groundwork for the infamous witch trials.
Upon arrival, step into history with a licensed local guide, the only kind allowed to lead tours in Salem. You’ll explore the town’s most significant witch trial landmarks while hearing true stories of the accused, the accusers, and the long-lasting cultural fallout. This isn’t a haunted house—it’s a powerful walk through one of America’s most cautionary tales.
After your walking tour, the experience shifts from thought-provoking to hands-on. Stop by a locally loved spell shop to choose a charm or spell that speaks to you.
