Itinerary

Basilica of San Clemente

The Basilica of San Clemente in Rome offers a fascinating journey through history. The 12th-century upper basilica is adorned with a stunning apse mosaic and Cosmatesque marble inlays. Beneath it lies a 4th-century Christian church, built on a Roman nobleman's house, with medieval frescoes depicting scenes from the life of St. Clement. Further below, a 1st-century Mithraeum, an underground temple dedicated to the god Mithras, reveals ancient Roman religious practices, along with the remains of Roman warehouses and residential buildings. The basilica showcases Rome’s evolution from paganism to Christianity in a single, extraordinary site.

St. Peter's Basilica

The Papal Basilica of Saint Peter in the Vatican City or simply Saint Peter's Basilica, is a church of the Italian High Renaissance located in Vatican City, an independent microstate enclaved within the city of Rome, Italy.

Castel Sant'Angelo

The Mausoleum of Hadrian, more often known as Castel Sant'Angelo is a towering rotunda in Parco Adriano, Rome, Italy. It was initially commissioned by the Roman Emperor Hadrian as a mausoleum for himself and his family. The popes later used the building as a fortress and castle, and it is now a museum. The structure was once the tallest building in Rome.
