Gandantegchinlen Monastery, also known as Gandan Monastery, is a Tibetan-style monastery located in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia. The monastery was founded in the 19th century and is considered one of the most important religious sites in Mongolia. The main temple of the monastery features a statue of Migjid Janraisig, a bodhisattva associated with compassion, which is over 20 meters tall and covered in gold. The temple also features many other Buddhist artworks and relics, including intricate carvings and wall paintings. In addition to the main temple, the monastery complex includes several smaller temples and buildings, as well as a library containing Buddhist texts and artifacts. Visitors can also witness daily religious ceremonies and see the monks engaged in their daily activities.
