The history of the Jewish community in Rhodes dates back to ancient times. In the 15th century, Sephardic Jews, exiled from Spain, settled on the island. The name of the Jewish quarter of Rhodes, La Juderia, comes from their language. Our tour starts from the New Town – not quite famous as the Old Town, but still full of remarkable buildings and places: for instance, the Old Port with their amazing statues – “Deer” and “Reindeer”
We will continue our tour with the Panoramic drive of the Acropolis of Rhodes Town, where you will be thrilled by the views of the East & West cost of the island! Then we will have the walking tour of the Jewish Cemetery - one of the oldest and best preserved Jewish cemeteries in Europe.
After that, you will have a possibility to fully enjoy the picturesque ancient places of the Jewish Quarter situated in the Old Town: the foot tour includes the - "Al Chatef" street;
