This colourful garden with its magical contrast between Majorelle blue, yellow and all the greeneries will charm you.this Botanical garden and artist's landscape garden in Marrakech, It was created by the French Orientalist artist, Jacques Majorelle back in 1923, and was only opened to the public in 1947. Starting in 1923, and features a Cubist villa designed by the French architect, Paul Sinoir in the 1930s.
We continue inside this magnificent garden our discovery of the Berber Museum , inaugurated in 2011 under the High Patronage of His Majesty Mohammed VI, King of Morocco, is housed in the former painting studio of the artist Jacques Majorelle. It presents a panorama of the extraordinary creativity of the Berbers (Imazighen), the most ancient people of North Africa. More than 600 objects, collected from the Rif Mountains to the Sahara by Pierre Bergé and Yves Saint Laurent, attest to the richness and diversity of this vibrant culture, which is still very much alive today.
After completing our discovery, a stone's throw from the Majorelle Gardens, we visit the Yves Saint Laurent Museum ,Dedicated to the work of the legendary French fashion designer, this last opened its doors in autumn 2017. It houses an important selection from the Fondation Pierre Bergé – Yves Saint Laurent’s impressive collection, which comprises 5,000 items of clothing, 15,000 haute couture accessories as well as tens of thousands of sketches and assorted objects. The building has been designed by the French architecture firm Studio KO, founded by architects Olivier Marty and Karl Fournier. The new building spans over 4,000 m2 and is more than just a museum. It features a 400 m2 permanent exhibition space, showcasing Yves Saint Laurent’s work within an original scenography designed by Christophe Martin; a 150 m2 temporary exhibition space, a 130-seat auditorium, a bookshop, a café-restaurant with a terrace and a research library housing 5,000 books
