Explore the second ancient capital of Sri Lanka by cycling from Colombo. This tour encompasses a 10 km journey around the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, where you will encounter 12th-century ruins and the remarkable stone that symbolizes the pride of Sri Lanka.
You will have the opportunity to enjoy a delectable village lunch and sample a traditional toddy. In the afternoon, we will embark on a ride alongside the picturesque paddy fields and the serene Polonnaruwa Lake, offering breathtaking panoramic views. Subsequently, we will return to Colombo and drop you off at your hotel in the city.

To the east of the Cultural Triangle, following the Anuradhapura era is the second ancient capital of Sri Lanka, Polonnaruwa. The Polonnaruwa legacy may have lasted for only two centuries however judging by the colossal monuments and monasteries it left behind it is clear that it was dynasty that cannot be easily forgotten. The archaeology remains at Polonnaruwa are exhibited at the Museum of the Central Cultural Fund and its visitor centre.
