The small booking fee you have paid to Viator is an administrative fee to guarantee your spot on the tour. You are encouraged to tip your guide what you feel the tour was worth at the end. We meet and greet you at Elizabeth square ( Erzsébet tér in Hungarian) where our fully licensed local tour guide is waiting for our Travellers. We sketch the itinerary and the major sights along the way including the largest Synagouge in Europe and tell you about the Jews of Hungary. We are going to focus on from the Belle Epoque or Golden Age to the destruction.
Here we speak about "Gaudiopolis" the City of Joy in Latin and Schutzpass that saved thousands of Jewish life. We also show you the former medieval city wall ruins that excluded Jewish people to trade within the city limits.
You will learn everything you need to know about the largest synagouge in Europe, the Neologue and Orthodox movements, the Zionism. Tour does not enter the synagouge but you will see the Memorial Courtyard and the cemetary from outside.
