Great day! Following delicious breakfast in the morning, we head to the northern region of Armenia. One, two, three… and you are here, by the shore of Lake Sevan. The crystal clear Sevan is the largest freshwater lake. Take the way up the hill, and voila, in front of you is Sevanavank monastery. Have a bird’s-eye view from the top of the hill and feel the inexplicable beauty of Armenians’ pride. Wait, wait, this is not all!
We continue the route. But, be attentive to the surroundings of your road. You will be just amazed by the huge landscape difference. All is green, everywhere is green, and the houses and other buildings are like planted in the forest. You enter Armenian Switzerland, quite a small city Dilijan. Head to Haghartsin Monastic Complex. The century-old monastery has combined the exceptional capability of Armenian masters and the typical mountainous landscapes.
Next is Goshavank, the 12th-century monastery. The monastic complex has been built by a great man called Gosh. He was the one who wrote a code of laws which has been the basis of the present-day Constitution of Armenia. Both Haghartsin and Goshavank have had great importance in the development of cultural, educational life of our people for centuries.
