After you fall in love with Óbidos, you will have time of your own to taste the famous "ginjinha", a cherry-liqueur served in a chocolate cup. Explore side streets, stairways and hidden corners. Or go up the castle walls, if you feel brave, and enjoy the uplifting views.

You will be guided through the architecture and history of this 14th-century Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Discover the most significant Portuguese Gothic building and birthplace of Manueline architecture. You can choose to see the exterior and the church (free admission) or visit the interior of the monastery (admission not included). If you decide to go inside the monastery (optional), you will see a highly original, national Gothic style that evolved, profoundly influenced by Manueline art.
