No visit to Barcelona is complete without a ride on the iconic Montserrat Cable Car, located just an hour outside the city. Ascent and descent tickets are sold separately, giving you the flexibility to choose how you want to experience the stunning views of Catalonia. Operating since 1930, the cable car offers breathtaking panoramic views of the rugged countryside as you travel up to Montserrat’s 'Saw Mountain.' At the top, you’ll find the Benedictine Santa Maria de Montserrat Abbey and the famous Our Lady of Montserrat statue. Montserrat has been a pilgrimage site for nearly a thousand years, and now you can easily visit without the long climb once required by medieval pilgrims
