The Swiss Village at Grindelwald is a wonderful location for a short trip to Launceston and the Tamar Valley. The Swiss village in the middle of the Tamar Valley has a unique story of love attached to it. Established in 1989, Mrs Vos loved Grindelwald so much after a scenic holiday to Switzerland. So Mr Voss built Mrs Vos her very own Swiss Village in Tasmania! All houses in Grindelwald have been built in Swiss style, with wide eaves, flowerboxes, window shutters and balconies.
After lunch, we continue the trip to Cataract Gorge Reserve where you can find and hiking trails, the world's longest single span chairlift, swimming pool, restaurant, kiosk, cafe peacocks and wildlife, beautiful gardens, suspension bridge, inclinator for easy access, Interpretation Centre and panoramic lookouts with spectacular views.
