What's included in Latin Quarter Unbottled - Wine History & Tastings

(Subject to Option Inclusions)

The Latin Quarter undoubtedly has the longest wine history of any neighbourhood in the city. From the vineyards planted by the Romans on the Montagne Saint Geneviève, maintained and expanded by Cistertian monks, through the Abbaye Saint Victor, the wine storage of the Halle aux Vins and the taverns of the Place de la Contrescarpe and the rue Mouffetard, wine has been part of daily life for more than 2000 years. Somewhat later than other quarters of the city, the natural wine movement is slowly taking root and bringing with it a renaissance in innovative cuisine. This walk takes you on an insider's journey to two hidden vineyards. It includes an 'al fresco' sparkling wine tasting, tantalizing your taste buds and awakening all your senses, and some of the most iconic monuments of the city. Our wine tasting, in an authentic, traditional wine bar, includes 3 wines, each accompanied by food. Starting in the second oldest park in Europe where we discover one of the city's hidden vineyards, we make our way past the spot where the Abbaye Saint Victor once stood and where the wines of Paris were stored until the 1950s. Our first tasting is in another hidden vineyard, held outdoors.
