Fengyi Academy, located next to the City God Temple, was built in 1814 and was listed as a third-level historical site in 1985. It was built by Zhang Tingqin, a candidate for Fengshan instructor and tribute student. It had 37 houses at the time. The courtyard originally enshrined the deities of Wenchang, Kuichang, and Cangsheng, and had tables and chairs. It was the place where students took annual exams in ancient times. The architectural details are very exquisite, and it is also the largest existing academy in Taiwan.
