Get a glimpse of Smith's Island where the Plough arrived from England in 1612 with the first Governor and 60 settlers; Enter an authentic replica of a settlers 'Cabben' from 1612 and view its contents. The Tucker House Museum, the St. George Historic Museum and the St. Peter's Church will definitely take you back in time. Exploring these aspects of early Bermuda life will provide valuable insight into the ingenuity and resilience of the Island's early inhabitants.
We have a 1 hours drive to get to our first stop, the Carter House, St. George. On the way down you receive full commentary on all sites of interest that you will pass. You will get an overview of the Island, more of Bermuda's history & culture. Some places of interest include: The Royal Naval Dockyard, The Somerset Bridge (the smallest drawbridge in the world), a South Shore drive overlooking some of our pink sand beaches.
This 17th century farmhouse was built in 1640 by the descendants of Christopher Carter, one of the Island's original settlers.
