As a Canadian Signature Experience, Norquay's Via Ferrata is a must-do activity when visiting Banff National Park. Our highly qualified ACMG-certified guides will lead you up the cliffs of Mt Norquay that hang above the Bow Valley, overlooking the town of Banff. Steel handholds, ladders, and footsteps as well as a steel safety cable are secured to the rock wall providing assistance and safety. Climbers are safely secured to the safety cable while climbing. Although no prior climbing experience is necessary, guests should be fit enough to climb a ladder and hike for a few hours in the mountains.
To get a greater feel for heights, exposure, and the full Via Ferrata experience, and become a Ridgewalker! This half-day excursion takes you high up on the Norquay cliffs, climbing the Memorial, Sunrise, and Vista buttresses – and of course, traversing the epic suspension bridge. Get access to incredible views of Banff National Park. A true climbing/mountaineering but no experience is required!
