Pyramids of Giza
Embark on a fascinating journey across Cairo with GEM Explore Egyptologist, starting from your requested location, and head towards the legendary Great Pyramids of Giza. Marvel at the grandeur of the pyramid complex, which houses the three remarkable pyramids of King Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos. Your tour will then take you to the Valley Temple of Khafre, where the royal body of Khafre was received. This temple was constructed to serve the process of mummification of King Khafre. Finally, get up close to the Great Sphinx, a towering monument that stands guard over the Pyramids. Featuring a lion's body and the head of King Khafre, the Great Sphinx is a masterpiece of ancient Egyptian art and a sight to behold. Please note that access to the interior of the pyramids requires a special ticket, which your guide will be happy to assist you with.
Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu)
It is truly remarkable that Khufu's pyramid, the only wonder of the ancient seven wonders, still stands to this day. This magnificent structure was the tallest building on earth for over 3800 years, and its complex includes a valley temple, which is now buried beneath the village of Nazlet el-Samman. Although the site has not yet been fully excavated, evidence of diabase paving and nummulitic limestone walls has been discovered. With the guidance of an advanced Egyptologist, you will have the opportunity to explore the entire area and gain a deeper understanding of the history and significance of this monumental site. Please keep in mind that if you wish to enter the great pyramid from the inside, a special ticket is required. Khafre's Pyramid
The second highest pyramid in the complex is dedicated to King Chefren or Khafre, and the entire complex remains in remarkably good condition to this day. With the guidance of your Egyptologist, you will have the opportunity to explore the valley temple and the causeway of King Khafre, gaining a deeper appreciation for the incredible engineering and construction skills of the ancient Egyptians.
