The Freedom Bridge was originally made to provide a walkway for Prisoners of War (POWs) from North Korea to South Korea, but not stand as a symbol of peace between the two countries. A hope that someday many families, friends, and loved ones can reunite. And usually decorated with ribbons or wish notes the bridge is a beautiful sight for visitors to see.
Found almost 30 years after the 1953 armistice agreement, a 2m by 2m tunnel was found that was thought to head to Seoul for a surprise attack. While North Korea denied everything, the tunnel is now a part of many DMZ tours. Visitors can now enjoy the large tunnel and learn more about the North Korean government's attempt to invade Korea.
