Popularly today known as Gamthi prints that is the villages (Gaam) from where it got the name. Block printing is a form of dying and coloring a fabric using beautifully carved blocks. The artisans use natural colors such as red from madder root, black from rusty iron solution and blue from Indigo. Witnessing the process step by step and executing the same will give one a memorable experience and souvenir to cherish for lifetime.

Sarkhej Roja

One of the important historic precincts of Monuments of medieval Gujarat Sarkhej Roza is located in the village of Makarba. Architectural style of Sarkhej Roza is a pre-cursor to Mughal period in a true amalgamation of Islamic, Hindu and Jain styles. The dargah of Sheikh Ahmed Ganj Baksh Khattu a Sufi saint and advisor to Sultan Ahmed Shah is housed in this complex. The construction of Sarkhej Roza (mausoleum - 1445 A.D.) and the Mosque (1451 A.D.) were commissioned by the reigning monarch Muhammad Shah. Visiting the complex at the time of “Loban” (Muslim religion evening ritual) will give an intimate visual and experience.
