Join this 2-hour walking tour to discover the traces of Dublin’s Viking history. The Dublin longphort was founded in the mid 9th-century and it soon became the epicenter of Viking trade routes in Ireland. Follow our Expert Guide through the cobblestone streets of Dublin to learn how the Viking invasion impacted the country’s cultural heritage. We begin our adventure in front of St. Patrick’s Cathedral, the site where St. Patrick converted pagans to Christians long before the arrival of Vikings.
We’ll take a relaxing walk to the Christ Church Cathedral, which was originally built by the Viking King Sitric Silkenbeard. The guide will tell us about the Hiberno-Norse artifacts displayed within this Gothic church and the nearby Dublinia, a museum dedicated to Viking history.
