The Doge's Palace (Palazzo Ducale) has represented the seat of Venetian political power for centuries. In its splendid rooms, plastered and immersed in hundreds of masterpieces of painting, the Duke and his Council controlled the fate of a thousand-year-old republic. Together with a guide, you'll discover the history of the European Middle Ages and the centuries immediately following, admiring the beautiful rooms along the way.
You'll be surprised by the rich details of the golden staircase and the realism of the scenes depicted by many artists who decorated this building. You will also have the opportunity to cross the Bridge of Sighs and enter the Venetian prisons.
