Our journey takes us along one of Iceland's longest fjords, to our first destination, the Goðafoss waterfall, which holds great significance in Iceland's history. Next, we will drive to Húsavík, a small town which is known from the film Eurovision with Will Farell. There you will see a charming church and port. Then we will visit a location where we can see puffins. Our next destination is Ásbyrgi, a horseshoe-shaped canyon surrounded by precipitous cliffs. We will then travel alongside the echoing cliffs which are world-renowned for their basalt columns that characterize the ancient crater remains. Finally, we will reach Dettifoss Waterfall the most powerfull waterfall in Europe. Our next stop is at Hverir, which is known for its boiling mud pits, this area is considered by many to be the most beautiful and catastrophic place in Iceland. We will take a short break at Víti crater near Krafla Volcano. On the way back, you will be able to admire the beauty of Lake Mývatn.
Pickup included
The drive to the Godafoss waterfall takes about 35 minutes and it requires 5 minutes very easy hike from the parking lot. There is a small food and souvenir shop nearby. The toilet is inside the shop.
The drive to this charming little town takes about 40 minutes. It is also known as the capital of whale watching and is famous from the film "Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga" with Will Ferrell. We will spend about 20-30 minutes there.
It is about 15 minutes drive from the city of Husavik. Is a small peninsula in the north of Iceland. Tjornes is known for its impressive geology and vibrant bird life. It is possible to see puffins from mid June to early September.
