The symbolic Red fort is a massive citadel built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in 1648 as a part of his capital city of Shahjahan-Abad is located on the eastern side of the old Delhi with its high red sand stone ramparts. The original name of this fort was Quila-e-Maula but later it became popular as Red Fort because of its Red sandstone color. The fort reminds the history of Great Mughals and the changes which occurred until the independence of India.
