Puchberg am Schneeberg
After a scenic drive from Vienna, arrive at the base of Schneeberg, the easternmost peak of the Alps. In the charming town of Puchberg, hop aboard the nostalgic Salamander Train, which climbs to 1,800 meters on a historic cog railway, offering breathtaking mountain views along the way.
Enjoy a relaxing hike through mountain meadows with stunning alpine views. Do as the Viennese do: take in the sweeping scenery of valleys and peaks before sitting down for a hearty lunch in a traditional mountain hut. Start with a warming beef noodle soup or a baked cauliflower appetizer. For your main dish, choose between slow-roasted pork belly with sauerkraut and dumplings or a flavorful vegetarian lentil stew.
