The tour consists of a nature walk and a journey through time. You will hear about Dubrovnik's past and present, its historical and natural landmarks and the city's cultural layers. Around sunrise, I guide you through the Mediterranean landscape, sharing stories of the land, its past, and the people and events that shaped it. Join me for a peaceful early-morning walk along the scenic paths just outside the historical centre, as nature slowly wakes up and the city begins to stir. The tour ends near the eastern Gate, just in time to explore alleys and squares after their morning wash and before the hustle and bustle. Depending on the season, you may encounter a variety of local plants, each with its own fragrance and energy - lavender, olive trees, bay leaf and rosemary invite us to slow down and listen to their stories before walking down to the ancient streets and squares. Bird lovers will be able to observe swifts and swallows as they manoueuvre and breakfast on insects.
The guide will tell you about history and significance of the island of Lokrum. The hike along the Old caravan route to Orsula takes about 20 minutes. During the break in Park Orsula, you will see and hear about local herbs and local culture. After the hike down, we will set out on a downhill walk through one of the most peaceful parts of Dubrovnik, Sv Jacob. As we near the Old Town, we walk through and hear about the 17th century quarantine Lazareti. At the fort Revelin you will have a view to the Old Port and hear the story about its significance for seafaring and merchant history of the Republic of Dubrovnik. You will hear a short overview of the city's fortifications.
You will make your own way to the meeting points
