Columbia Glacier

Columbia Glacier is the largest glacier in south-central Alaska. Each day Columbia calves off around 8 million tons of ice. Depending on this ice flow we will navigate the large ice bergs getting as close to the face of Columbia as the ice and safety dictate.

  • Address: 112 N Harbor Drive. Located behind the Best Western Valdez Harbor Inn Directions: Please park along the west end of North Harbor Drive. Walk along the front of the Best Western Hotel windows to our office that is built on pilings over the water just above the Tour Dock in Valdez.

Please check into the Stan Stephens Glacier & Wildlife Cruises office one hour prior to departure. The office is located at 112 N Harbor Drive, Valdez, Alaska. Please call if you have questions or problems locating us. Please dress in layers. Temperatures at the glacier will be at least 15 degrees cooler than on shore in Valdez.
