We will get off the Bullet Train at Mishima Station, located in Shizuoka Prefecture. The city is known as a base for climbers of Mt. Fuji and visitors heading to Hakone. It is also famous for its rich spring water from Mt. Fuji. We will explore Shirataki Park and walk along the stream of crystal-clear water.
Mishima Taisha is one of the oldest and most important Shinto shrines in the area, with a history spanning over 1,300 years. It was respected and admired by numerous samurai warlords, including Minamoto no Yoritomo, the founder of the Kamakura Shogunate government. You can enjoy a very tranquil and sacred atmosphere within the shrine precincts, and you will also learn how Shinto influences Japanese lifestyle and culture. Additionally, there is a deer park on the property where you can feed deer crackers to the resident deer.
