Our tour starts from Piazza dell'Odegitria, inside Bari Vecchia, the city's historic centre. Your local expert will be waiting for you at the palms near the Cathedral's front door. Let's the tour begin!
On the way to the first stop on the tour, we pass the Cathedral of San Sabino. At the first stop, we will taste the typical Bari focaccia in one of the oldest bakeries in town. Focaccia barese is a delicious mixture of ground semolina, boiled potatoes, salt, yeast and water. Soft on the inside and crispy on the outside! Before baking it is covered with tomatoes and olives.
Walking through the alleys of the city centre, we pass the Civic Museum of Bari. After eating the famous 'sgagliozze' (quares of polenta, fried by housewives all year round) and fried 'popizze' (ound pancakes of leavened dough), we head for the third stop, where we will eat the famous 'panzerotto' (The classic one has a filling of mozzarella and tomato, but you can find many other original variations).
