Enjoy a half-day, combined canal boat and bike tour of Bangkok, and experience the city in all its diversity. Your tour begins with a morning bike fitting and briefing at the Discova Day Tour Shop near MRT Sam Yot. Then, pedal off to experience the soul of Bangkok along the city’s small lanes and alleyways. Ride through Rattanakosin Island to reach the Chao Phraya River. Board a boat to cruise down the river and through the back canals to Wat Kuhasawan.
Back on dry land, cycle to an old market community to visit an ancient temple. See evidence of the former wealth of the trading communities that, centuries ago, gathered along the canals to buy goods from the outlying farms and orchards. Admire the elegant temples they left behind. Next, enjoy a simple Thai lunch by the canal, before going to a 200-year-old house on the banks of the Bang Luang Canal to see snippets of traditional Thai puppetry from ancient epics by Hoon Lek puppeteers using khon dance ( Cannot be guaranteed as it depends on artists variable schedule). Continue to Wat Hongrattanaram to discover a shrine dedicated to the 1st king of Bangkok.
Pedal on to the community of Wat Kalyanamit to explore the mixed, Chinese-Thai temple. Discover the site of Bangkok’s original Chinatown on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, before crossing the river by ferry to ride past the Grand Palace. Admire the ceremonial grounds of Sanam Luang, before cycling back to Sam Yot area.
