Embark on a cruise journey at Ramfjord where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery at the fjord, spot the wildlife above and below the water, and visit an old fishing facility.
一 What You Can Expect 一
Leave Tromsø in the morning light with fresh cold air in the Arctic Circle. We will set course south to one of the beautiful fjords in the region–Ramfjord. The fjord is characterized by its 90 degrees corner halfway through the fjord. From marine life that flourishes here to the historic cold war facility of Olavsvern, the fjord is rich with stories.
Then we will visit an old fishing facility on the island of Kvaløya. While passing through the Ristraumen which is a well-known local fishing spot, you can enjoy the breathtaking view over both Kvaløya and Malangen. We will step on land and tell you the history of the fishing industry in northern Norway and how it has shaped families and culture. The guides will show you the traditional and famous drying racks that are used to make ‘stockfish’. Inside, the guides will provide you with a deeper insight into how the fish goes from fjord to plate, and how things have changed throughout history. Afterward, you will get to try a little taste of the very products that were produced here and are still being made.
There are binoculars on board, you can borrow them while the guides & captain will keep an eye on the wildlife that can be spotted during the tour. If the weather allows, we will use the underwater drone and you can follow the live view of the drone on our screens inside the boat. At the same time, the guide will tell you about the underwater world of the Norwegian fjords.
