Leave behind the bustle of Amsterdam and cycle within minutes into the peaceful beauty of Waterland — a countryside region with historic villages, open fields, and tranquil canals. This 2.5-hour guided tour is flat, easy-paced, and designed to let you feel the shift from city to countryside without becoming exhausting.
Unlike the more commercial tours that last 4 hours or more, this experience is tailored for those seeking something authentic yet accessible. It’s the perfect balance of activity, nature, and local storytelling. In a small group and unhurried pace, you’ll connect with the real Dutch countryside, guided by someone who lives there.
No touristy cheese factories, no crowds — just an intimate and honest ride with thoughtful stops, local stories, village charm, and wide horizons. Ideal if you want to get out of the city, breathe, and return refreshed.
D'Admiraal is a chalk and trass (hydraulic mortar) mill located next to the Noordhollands canal in Amsterdam. It is the last remaining example of this type of mill. The year 1792 is inscribed on the front beam (the “baard”), and “d'admiraal” can be read on the rear beam.
